Paul Tinkler is a respected figure in the AFL Ontario community, recognized for his extensive contributions as a player, coach, and executive. His involvement with the Broadview Hawks from 1993 to 1995 and the Toronto Dingos from 1996, 1998 to 2019, showcases his long-standing commitment to the sport. Paul played a total of 235 games, scoring 268 goals. He was instrumental in the Toronto Dingos’ premiership victories in Division 1 (2000, 2003, 2004, 2005) and Division 2 (2013, 2015).
As a coach, Paul led the Toronto Dingos in 1999, 2001, and 2005, and served as an assistant coach in 1998 and 2000. His leadership and strategic insights contributed significantly to the team’s successes during these years.
Paul’s individual accolades include winning the AFL Ontario Best & Fairest (Division 2) in 2014, the Toronto Dingos Best & Fairest in 1996 and 1998 and being the leading goal kicker for the Toronto Dingos in multiple years. He was also named the Best Clubman in 2000 and 2005 and was selected for the AFL Ontario All Star team in 2003, 2004, and 2005. In his executive roles, Paul served as the President of the Toronto Dingos in 2001, Vice-President in 2002 and 2005, and as a Director from 2012 to 2014. His dedication to the club earned him life membership with the Toronto Dingos in 2016. Additionally, he contributed as an umpire in 2013.
