Jury Klymko is a foundational member of the AFL Ontario community, known for his significant contributions since the inception of the league. Present at the first CAFA meeting on May 25, 1989, Jury played in the inaugural game on September 9, 1989, marking the beginning of organized Australian Football in Ontario. His involvement in the sport has been extensive, spanning various roles and clubs over many years.

Jury’s playing career is marked by his participation with several clubs. He played for the Mississauga Mustangs from 1989 to 1990, in 1998, and again from 2005 to 2006, accumulating a total of 40 games and scoring 19 goals. He also played for the Balmy Beach Saints from 1992 to 1994, Brampton Wolverines from 1995 to 1996, and the Toronto Dingos in 1997, totalling 110 games and 55 goals. Notably, he was the first player in CAFA to reach 100 games, a milestone that underscores his dedication and longevity in the sport.

Beyond his playing career, Jury has also contributed as a coach and executive. He coached the Mississauga Mustangs in 2005 and 2006, leading the team in 27 games with 17 wins. He also served as an assistant coach for the All Ontario Team in 2005. In executive roles, he was the CAFA Secretary from 1989 to 1990 and a Director for the Mississauga Mustangs in 1991. His contributions have been recognized with several awards and honours, including being named a league founder of CAFA in 1989, a life member of CAFA in 1995, and participating in the Australia All Star Game from 1993 to 1995. Jury’s enduring impact on the sport continues to be felt throughout the AFL Ontario community.
